This book took me far out of my comfort zone. First, it starts when the girl is 14...she is raped when she is 15.
There is nothing "erotic" about this book. It is cringe worthy the whole way through for me.
The story is told from Myra's perspective. She is devalued her entire life and it is just incredibly sad.
I admit, the ending gave me chills...complete and total sympathy for Myra, and she is a fictional character. I hope.
The three star is because I am not totally in love with the writing style and completely freaked out by the idea that the author named this character after herself!
